Frequently Asked QuestionsWhich Ultraslide is right for me?This is the question we are asked most often. While your height is a factor, it is certainly not the deciding factor in most cases. We’ve heard of people 5 feet tall working out on the Ultraslide 10 and others over 6 feet tall having a great workout on the Ultraslide 7. As a very general rule, if you are over 6 feet tall, you should probably consider the Ultraslide 8 or, if your space, ambition, and budget allow, the Ultraslide 10. Other factors to keep in mind when deciding which Ultraslide is right for you include: what your training goals are, available space for use, your budget, and frequency with which you will be using the Ultraslide.
The Ultraslide 7 was created to coincide with our appearance on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” It is a more affordable, shorter board designed specifically for home use. The 7 has a thinner slide surface, lighter base board, and lower bumpers as home use will generally result in much less wear and tear than commercial/institutional use. Our original boards, the Ultraslide 8 and 10 foot, were designed to meet the demands of these intense, high-usage settings. Both the 8 and 10 have thicker surfaces, commercial-grade base boards, and larger bumpers to accommodate the high volume-use seen in professional and collegiate training rooms, physical therapy clinics, health clubs, and other elite facilities.
Do you sell used or blemished Ultraslides at a discount?Yes, we will sometimes have cosmetically-blemished or used/returned units that we sell at a discount. The discount can range from $50 to $150 off the retail price depending on the imperfections or previous usage.
Cosmetically-blemished Ultraslides are new boards that have some imperfection such as a scratch in the surface, a chip or dent in the laminate of baseboard, or a hairline surface crack or dent in a bumper. The cosmetically-blemished Ultraslides work as new because they are new, but were not sold as new because of the imperfection.
Do you ship internationally?Yes, we ship to many countries on a weekly basis including Australia, Canada, and countries throughout Europe. For details on our distributors please see our distributors page. If your country does not have a distributor listed, please contact us and we can arrange to ship to directly.
Which type of floor can the Ultraslide be used on?All Ultraslides can be used on carpeting or hard floors such as wood, concrete, or linoleum. Each has commercial-grade non-slip rubber underneath the base board to help hold the unit in place. It is imperative, however, that the surface you use the Ultraslide on is clean, dry, and level. We do not recommend using the Ultraslide on grass for this reason. (The Ultraslide 10 and 8 are shown on top of the photo with the solid, large non-slip rubber on either half of the base board. The Ultraslide 7 is displayed on bottom with 2 long strips of non-slip rubber surface on each side of the base board.)
If the Ultraslide folds in half, will I always be sliding over a seam or fold? No. While the base on all three Ultraslide models folds in half for shipping and easy storage, all three boards also feature a singular sliding surface that lies across the baseboard. Thus, you will never feel the seam of the baseboard. This sliding surface is rolled for shipping and can be removed from the baseboard and rolled for storage. |
